My Story

I'm an Ottawa-based journalist, storyteller, and communications professional who believes strong reporting begins with listening. I approach my work with curiosity, care, and respect for the people at the centre of every story.

I recently graduated with a Combined Honours degree in Journalism and Communication and Media Studies from Carleton University, my work has appeared in Capital Current, The Charlatan, University Affairs, Glebe Report, and Ricepaper Magazine. I’ve reported on culture, identity, immigration, mental health, and local arts, and I also write music and film reviews that place creative work in a social context.

My reporting on K-pop and Korean identity in Canada won Gold at the 2025 NNC/CAJ Student Journalism Award of Excellence. I was also named a 2026 CJF Bursary recipient for BIPOC Student Journalists, supported by Media Profile.

I've had the opportunity to gain experience on both sides of the media industry. At University Affairs, I contributed through research, fact-checking, pitching, interviews, and writing, while participating in weekly editorial meetings. Most recently, as a Digital Communications Intern at the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), I worked across email marketing, social media, press releases, and strategic communications, which deepened my understanding of how storytelling translates across different contexts and audiences.

I work across features, reviews, multimedia storytelling, and digital communications, and I'm comfortable pitching ideas, reporting independently, meeting deadlines, and collaborating closely with editors and teams to strengthen the work. I also bring multimedia skills, including experience with Adobe Audition, Rush, and Photoshop.

My Goals

My goal is to create thoughtful, people-centred work across journalism and communications that makes complex issues understandable, grounded, and human, while amplifying the voices and experiences of diverse communities.

Fun Fact

Outside of my journalistic work, I often find myself grappling with overthinking.

During these moments, I distract myself by listening to music, reading a favourite novel, or indulging in my all-time hobby—cooking.
